I have a friend who is doing something fun this month with her blog. She is trying to list 30 days of being thankful. So, every day this month she is posting about something that she is thankful for. I thought this was a really fun idea. Sometimes I really forget the things that I am thankful for, so I figured, even though it was not the first of the month, I would try this out anyway and just try to catch up on the ones that I missed. Now considering the chaos which is my life. I doubt that I will post every day. But I'll give it a shot, at least until thanksgiving day...
Thankful thing #1
First and foremost, I am thankful for my Husband. He is a fantastic person to share my life with, and I am so thankful that he chose me to spend his with. He try's so hard to make life in our home worth living. He is a fantastic Dad to our boys and shows me every day what kind of person/mother I want to be.
Thankful thing #2
I am thankful for my boys. Who would have thunk it, that I would have ended up with 5 boys. In some ways it makes me laugh, and I realize every day that Heavenly Father has a great sense of humor. I'm sure he watches over me chuckling every day. These boys have kept me on my toes for 12+ years now, and I have loved just about ever moment of it. They have tried my patience, and in turn helped me to gain more patience. They have taught me to laugh, like I never have laughed before. And taught me the true meaning of love.
Thankful thing #3
I am thankful for my home. There are days driving downtown especially, when I notice the people in the park sleeping under the trees. What a sad life it must be to have no-place to call your own. No where to go to stay warm and keep the rain off your head. No place that can be a refuge from the outside world.
I am grateful that it is warm inside, when it is cold out side. I am grateful that I have a place that is mine where I can be apart from the craziness outside. I am thankful for my home.
Thankful thing #4
I am thankful for my legs. Though they may not be pretty, they get me from point A to point B with no trouble. I still have the ability to walk and run and to even dance (though that too, is not pretty). I am thankful that I can chase my boys, and have them chase me in return. I am grateful that they carry me to the hoop (also not so pretty), when I'm playing ball with them. I am grateful for my legs.
Thankful thing #5
I am grateful for my parents. For the sacrifices they have made for me over the years. For all that they did, to teach me right from wrong. To instill values that I still hold dear. I am grateful that they stayed involved in my life and are still a huge part of it now.
Thankful thing #6
I am grateful for my testimony of Jesus Christ. I am grateful that I understand who he was and why he is so important. I am grateful for the knowledge I have of his life and of his death, and what that does for me and my family. I am grateful for the things he taught and the example that he set. I am grateful that he is my brother and my savior and redeemer.
Thankful thing #7
I am thankful for my friends.
I have the personality of a typical red head. I can be kind and compassionate. But I have another side that is exactly the opposite. I can be quick tempered and mean. Unkind and intolerant. And because of this side of my personality, I know that I could have ended up in some very sad situations in my life because of decisions I would have made. I'm grateful for my friends then and even now, that keep my head on straight. Who help me to think things through before I act on them, and are an excellent example to me. I am thankful that they all have helped mold me into the person I am today.

I am thankful I can call you my friend. You have been there for me in times when I needed to cry and yell and laugh with me when only you would understand. I love you Stac! I hope you and your wonderful family have a great holiday season!
Thank You Julie...you almost made me cry. I am so thankful for your friendship. You too have gotten me through some very tough times. I don't think I would have survived without you. I really believe you were brought into my life for a reason, and I am so grateful for that. I too hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday.
