Things....

Well it has become that time of the year again, when I attempt to take portraits of my kids. For whatever reason, (shortage of money, or fighting the kids in a dreadful portrait studio) I have chosen for the past few years to take the pictures myself. This hasn't necessarily been an easy task. But, I guess in comparison, it is easier than going to a studio to do it. Finding backgrounds isn't the easiest thing to do, so we tried Murray park one year in the beautiful flower gardens, and last year we hit Wheeler farm in the autumn. Well, this year, I did want to have an "indoor" looking shoot, so I borrowed some backdrops from my friend and went to town. I did all of their individual shots first. This actually worked fairly well. It wasn't so hard and I got lots of great pictures, but when it came to the group shot....not so simple. To get five boys all looking in one direction at the same time...ugh! We finally had to give up, without success. Later that evening I tried some shots, but I had lost the afternoon sun and without all of the fancy lighting of the studio, they turned out bad. So, I tried again today, and this was the best I got. Maybe it is best to go to a studio after all! :-)

I think it looks good. I too procrastinated and ended up doing Saturday morning in the freezing cold. I am nervous to see the results because everyone was freezing and miserable. Next year I am shooting for September.

Julie, thanks! I usually shoot for September, but this year...I'm not sure what happened. I just didn't get it done. :(

I think it's cute! It's so hard to get the photos but so expensive to have someone else do it. I think you did just fine.

The only problem I can see is that the photo is missing the 6th Evans boy. If I'd known you were taking pics, I would have bought your boy Logan a sweater to wear so he'd match his 'adopted' band of brothers.
