I finally have it! I found a copy of Catching Fire while I was out today at Sam's Club. I've been looking since it's release date on September 1st, but I am slightly too cheep to go buy books at Barns and Noble or Boarders. I'll do it if I exhaust my resources otherwise, but I always know if I'm patient, I'll be able to pick it up at target, sams or costco. Call me cheep, I'll admit it!I have to add also that I wasn't desperate yet. If I had been waiting to actually read the book, I would have done anything to purchase it on the 1st. But thanks to my friend, and book club buddy Natasha, I read this book last spring. (She received an advance readers copy at a book show in New York in April)
I really just wanted to own this book and possibly read it again.
If you haven't read the 1st book, The Hunger Games, make it your next read. It is captivating, addicting and slightly disturbing. Stephen King described it this way..."{The Hunger Games} is a violent, jarring speed-rap of a novel that generates nearly constant suspense...I couldn't stop reading it."
These are not books that I would recommend to everyone. Those who struggle with nightmares or spook easily, should probably stay away. But even with its violent/disturbing topic, it is one of my favorite books ever (and I've read a few), and I continue to recommend them. So, I must be off now, I'm thinking I'm going to go have a good read!

You are so lucky to live by Natasha!!
I loved Catching Fire, maybe even more than the first book.
I am lucky! Natasha is such a sweetheart.
It's funny how such a violent book can be so captivating. I think you're right though. I think I loved the second one better too. I can't wait for the third now. Only a year.... ugh!
