Summer!!!

One more week!
I cannot wait,
To sleep in tight
and stay up Late!

The time has come
for one and all
for no more school
until the fall.

Homework sucks
and moms get tired
the kids are grumps
and kind of wired.

We need a break
and so we say
no more school
we want to play

We'll camp and run
and ride and sing
We'll crash in bed
at night to dream.

We cannot wait
for school to end,
summer waits
but wont pretend.

Eeeh, doesn't really make sense, but I REALLY can't wait until school is out. It has shot me into writing bad poetry, I must really want the kids out of school. Steve always laughs at me at the end of a school year. When I'm about to loose it, because I am so sick of homework, and projects and bedtimes etc. He always says, give it 3 weeks and you'll want the kids back in school.
I know it's true, but everyone needs a little change once in a while.

The last few weeks have seemed impossible too. There is so much going on at school. Final projects due, programs, assemblies, and field trips. Yesterday Alex had one, today the other 3 did. Next week is field day and 6th grade graduation (I know...yes, our school has a program and then a big field trip to Boondocks afterwords. Geesh!) I am so burned out! I just want to spend some time not worrying about time.

One More Week!!!!!

Amen sister, AMEN!

I like your poem. One alternate ending line could be: "Summer waits, around the bend."

I am so looking forward to summer. What a happy, happy day Friday will be! I think that year-round would have a few perks.

I'll add my Amen to that! I'm so ready for it all to be over too.

At least you got that field trip behind you- it should be much easier sailing now.

totally cute poem! My kids have been out for a week already and bedtimes have been way late. The Grouch has come to live, so today I announced that everyone is going to bed early because summer school starts tomorrow. For the most part everyone went willingly!!! Guess their week caught up with them! Only the 3 older ones are going to summer school and it is so not like 'school'......... more fun than anything!!!
