What happens when two families happen to be in a cul-de-sac, at the same time, both lighting their holiday fireworks? Well if it is my family, and the one next door... Testosterone seemed to get the best of the Dad's in both families and the competition got fierce. However they found a way to combine their efforts and from this small competition the "Cul-de-sac of fire" evolved.
This is officially the 6th year of this party. The men combined their resources and found a way to entertain the whole neighborhood in the name of competition.
Well, tomorrow is the official date of the party. There will be a live band, all the snowcones you can eat, nachos, pot luck food, fun for the kids, Diet coke and Mentos, fountain display, outdoor movie, and of course the fireworks.
Tonight was the official shopping trip to pick up the explosives. It looks to be a great show again this year. Thanks everyone for the dontaions.
It is a party we all look forward too. The kids plan on it and prepare all summer long. They love to be in the middle of all of it and involved in the preparations. Today they have been nextdoor all day sampling all of the snowcone flavors, and were delighted to help pick out the fireworks.
Hopefully this year will be just as fun as previous years and fun will be had by all!

Sorry we missed this. We went to Lava for the weekend. I am sure it was a lot of fun.
It was tons of fun! I've got some of the pictures my sister took up on Facebook. I need to move them over to the blog.
Hey- tell Steve that one of my Facebook friends asked "Who did the fireworks for you?" because they looked too 'professional' to be just neighborhood type fireworks.
